How to start a jewelry web business?

i have a home jewelry business..I would like to take it to the web as well.. both for current customers and for new ones. I would like to sell online too. I am unsure of how much inventory to keep and what shipping plan to use. Currently I deliver products in person and don't ship much. I want the shipping to be low cost and fast (and easy for me). Anybody have knowledge in this area?

How to start a jewelry web business?
Start your jewelry business on Ebay. You can transition your current customer base to ordering online and also solicit new customers with your Ebay store. Don't keep too much inventory on hand - let customers come to you and order products so that your costs are at a minimum. Use the USPS for shipping - it's low cost and fast enough. Good luck.
Reply:Many people in your position use the company whose URL is in the source box below. If you investigate the site, you can find examples of many types of sites, including those like yours that support an existing off-line business.

Best wishes.
Reply:Actually, yes :), I make belts and sell them from home %26amp; to stores, but I have a website (www.chelseylorenbelts.com) that I use to show my belts.

I mainly only do wholesale selling online and use the website as a guide for that, but in terms of shipping, always use priority mail - it's quick, safe, and more secure than other mailing services. You can calculate the shipping costs on www.usps.com anytime to the zip code you are shipping to so you don't overcharge.

I also highly recommend including an insurance fee in your shipping cost so you don't lose the piece and money if the item is lost in the mail. Up to $100, it's only $1.30 as far as I know.

In any case, good luck with your business - I hope you do well! :)
Reply:I can do it for you something you can maintain. virtualstorz.com Check out the site. You can use all those options in it. Give me your specs.
Reply:UPS is the best option for shipping as they give you free insurance up to $100. Also they are the most reliable. Check other jewelry websites such as www.jewelryvortex.com %26amp; www.jegem.com. See how they structure their websites. A good hosting company to use for jewelry would be www.flashecom.com They will help you build you jewelry store.
