Is it a bad idea to take Microeconomics online if you're not necessarily the best math student?

Everybody tells me that Economics classes are just like math--only related to business and economics. Well, I understand the business world and math and stuff. It's just algebra I don't get. That said, is it a bad idea to take Microeconomics online?

It is not a hard class and no, it does not have complicated Math in it. Unless your professor asks you to derive how to form the graph and such, which would be a very unusual case. In my opinion, online classes are only harder if you can't find the time to do it. Otherwise, it is pretty much the same as attending an a class on campus.
Reply:The most important thing for success online is if you are self-disciplined and comfortable on the web. If you have no problem using the computer in the first place, and if you are sure you're able to study regularly and get the work in, then probably the online course would be no more challenging than the face-to-face one.

If algebra is your weakness, go buy a copy (used one maybe from ebay?) of one of the computer math teaching programs like High School Math Advantage. It will clean up that problem area--or else it will confirm that you're not self-disciplined enough to benefit from an online course :-)
Reply:I hear microeconomics is a tough course, I'd recommend against it, especially because it is very easy to put it off. Take it in person, if you have trouble with algebra there is no way you should take it online.
