Privite Online unsecured loans are they legit?

I'm in a nasty legal battle and I need 13,000 dollars. I have looked into online unsecured loans. I want to know if anyone has been scammed by using this method. They usually start out by saying I am a private/business loan officer. Blah Blah, but they are not from a bank and they have a yahoo handle. I am just trying to see if this is an option for me. Please let me know. Thanks!

I suppose there could be legitimate lenders out there but there are so many scam artists operating out of foreign countries, I wouldn't trust any of them.





If they ask you for money up front, I wouldn't do it. Advance fee loans are all over the place now and as far as I know, they're all scams. See FTC warning on web link below.
Reply:Most are scams. You'd be better off going to a local bank or credit union or seeing if a family member could help you out. Even if the online place was legitimate, you'd be paying such outrageous interest on the loan that you'd never get it paid off.
Reply:Some on-line loans can be genuine; therefore it's no harm trying. Cut your communications if you're asked for upfront fee. I've recently tried one by a MikkyJames (from Mikky lenders) who operates out of Nigeria. I was told to remit US$300 as non-collateral fee. Being me, I've told them to deduct the fee from the loan amount. I've not heard from them since.. So, one needs to be smart enough to smell rats.
