What are the best options for managing my website's ads? I need a solution that will manage all my website's ads - 500 to 750 of them.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- I need to track the clicks on each ad in order to bill my
customers (the advertisers).
- I need to be able to easily add, remove, or modify ads myself
- I also need to allow my advertisers to manager their ads online
(ie: to limit the amount they spend, change their ad layout, etc.).
BUDGET:
Our website receives about 80,000 page views a month (about 24,000 unique visitors), so we are not looking for a big company enterprise solution. Rather, we are looking for a small- to medium-sized web business solution. An *approximate* budget is:
$5,000 to $10,000 one-time purchase and installation cost
*OR*
$500 to $1,000 per year recurring licensing cost
I know there are "hosted ad serving" solutions out there. I think I
would rather a "local" ad server (a software solution we can install %26amp; manage)
Solutions for managing online advertisements on your website (Ad Serving)?
One very good solution that I've found and use on my own website is PhpAdsNew http://www.phpadsnew.com . It is a free open source ad management program that is very easy to use.
It allows real time tracking of statistics with an advertiser login account so they can check their statistics. You can easily add or pause the campaigns, set caps in terms of IP addresses, time of day or day of the week. It can run anywhere from banner to text ads to popups.
The only downside is that the system does not allow advertisers to change their banners - they have to submit it to us. The old version allows this capability but the developers found this to be a weakness in the system that hackers can exploit so this option was disabled. Nonetheless, it works well for us because we have some advertisers who insist on submitting a leaderboard instead of banners or some other funky sizes that we do not support.
I suggest you check phpadsnew out.
Reply:PhPadsnew is NOT a tool to market your website, but a tool to manage your ads as you asked Report It
